Xbox One Will Require Day One Update To Be Completely Functional

Xbox One Will Require Day One Update To Be Completely FunctionalWhile Microsoft might have backtracked on their policies regarding the always-on requirement for their Xbox One video game console, this does not mean that you won’t need an internet connection at all. In fact if you are planning on getting the Xbox One, you will need to have an internet connection, at least upon firing up the console because according to Microsoft, gamers will be required to download the day one patch if they hope to use the console. While it was known that a day one patch would be required, as is usually the case with consoles, it was not known as to how extensive the update might be.

The folks at Engadget posed such a question to Microsoft’s senior director of product management, Albert Penello, and asked if the console would still work and play games with a physical game disc even if they have no internet connection on day one. According to Penello, “Nothing. You need the Day One update.” Penello went on to state, “A lot of the apps come with the day one update because they wouldn’t have even been done […] You’re gonna need to take this update. It’s not gonna be really an optional thing’.” So there you have it, if you were thinking of getting the Xbox One, best make sure your ISP is good and ready and hope nothing goes wrong on day one itself!

Amazon To Offer Sunday Deliveries For Prime Customers

Amazon To Offer Sunday Deliveries For Prime CustomersPurchasing goods online is a great way to get your hands on items that your local retailers might not stock, especially if you’re looking for books where Amazon’s online store is probably one of the best places to do so. Unfortunately one of the drawbacks to online delivery is that we have to put up with the operating hours of delivery services which are usually on weekdays, but wouldn’t it be awesome if our goods could get delivered on the weekends as well? Well the good news for Amazon Prime customers is that the answer is a resounding YES.

This was announced by Amazon as the company has revealed that they have teamed up with the United States Postal Service (USPS) where Prime customers will have their orders delivered to them on Sundays. This service is expected to kick off in New York and Los Angeles and will see an expansion to other cities such as Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Phoenix, and more over the course of the next year. It is unclear as to whether Amazon will extend this service to customers purchasing from overseas, although we reckon it might get pretty complicated given that they might have a lot of different mail services to negotiate, but one can hope, right? Samsung NX300M Is The Company’s First Tizen Product

Samsung NX300M Is The Companys First Tizen ProductWe have heard how Samsung plans to launch Tizen-based products in the near future, but as it turns out, they have already done so. If you might recall, earlier in October Samsung announced the NX300M camera which was essentially a minor upgrade over the NX300 and was destined for launch only in South Korea. Little did we know, the NX300M is actually Samsung’s first product that is running on the Tizen platform which apparently aided in the camera booting up reportedly twice as fast, and also improved its camera performance, which we can’t attest to since we have yet to try it ourselves.

For those who have tried the NX300M or have read reviews and you like what you see and hear, hopefully this camera technology (software side, of course) will make its way onto Samsung’s Tizen-based smartphones, which according to Samsung during their Tizen Developer Summit In South Korea, will make their debut in Q1 2014, although no specific dates were mentioned. The Tizen smartphones are expected to run in Tizen 2.2.1 but will see an update to Tizen 3.0 when the update is available come Q3 2014 which will see multi-user accounts, 64-bit architecture support, better 3D rendering and more.

The Nissan BladeGlider is an electric supercar that looks as good as it sounds

BladeGlider. Just saying it out loud makes us feel more manly. It also makes us think of razors, but you’ll have a hard time shaving with Nissan’s newly revealed supercar concept.
Built from carbon fibre with a wide rear and narrow nose, it’s built for speed with sleek looks to match.
Its automatic gull wing doors and rear-tires fitted with in-wheel electric motors also mean that – combined with its low weight – it’ll guzzle up less energy than Nissan’s existing Leaf EV.
Oh look, Batman has new eco-friendly mini Batmobile

Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls To Run At 1080p, 60fps On The PS4

Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls To Run At 1080p, 60fps On The PS4It seems that games made for Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4 will have native Full HD 1080p support, and that seems to be the case for Blizzard’s Diablo 3 which will be making its way onto the PlayStation 4 console come 2014. This was confirmed by Blizzard themselves at BlizzCon 2013, where the game’s director, Josh Mosqueira revealed that the game’s expansion, Reaper of Souls, would run at 1080p Full HD resolution at 60fps. Mosqueira also confirmed that those who are currently playing the PlayStation 3 version of the game will be able to transfer their characters and progress from the PS3 console onto the PS4 console, if they were to switch consoles later on.

However he was unable to confirm or specify if gamers would receive a discount if they were to get Diablo 3 for the PS4 if they had already bought the game for the PS3, and stated that they were still figuring it out as to how they might be able to distribute the Reaper of Souls expansion for the PlayStation 4 console. What do you guys think? Should Diablo 3 for the PS4 be made a free download if a PS3 version had already been bought?
