It was reported not too long ago that Amazon might launch an ad-supported channel through IMDb to provide free streaming of movies and TV shows. It’s doing just that today. IMDb Freedive is a subscription-free service available through its website in the U.S. and through Amazon’s Fire TV devices.
IMDb Freedive is an ad-supported channel which will air popular TV shows such as Heroes, The Bachelor, Fringe, and others. Popular Hollywood movies such as Foxcatcher, Monster, Memento, and others will be streamed as well. This list is by no means exhaustive. The Amazon-owned company promises that the Freedive catalog will continue to evolve and that new titles will be added regularly.
It’s possible to view all of that content for no charge and IMDb Freedive doesn’t even require a subscription. Viewers can dive deeper into the content through IMDb X-Ray, a service which will leverage the site’s database to provide authoritative information about the cast, crew, soundtracks, trivia, and more.
