The rental company is expected to offer titles for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and the Nintendo Wii U over the next couple of weeks.

PS4 Sales In UK Might Have Surged As Well Last Week

    Adnan Farooqui March 18, 2014

PS4 Sales In UK Might Have Surged As Well Last Week

Even since both new consoles, PS4 and Xbox One, came out in November last year analysts and fans alike have been keeping an eye on the competition between them. In several markets it appears that the PS4 might be outselling the Xbox One. However last week it was reported that the Xbox One sales had gotten a big boost over in the UK, sales apparently jumped 96 percent. If that happened, it could be attributed to the launch of Titanfall, a much awaited title for the console. A report suggests that this boost really might not have helped Xbox One leave its rival behind.

    Skype For Xbox One Updated

    Hubert Nguyen March 14, 2014

Skype For Xbox One UpdatedSkype has announced an update for Skype for Xbox One which adds better synchronized chats, push notifications, and bug fixes – among other things, here’s the exact list from Skype’s blog post:

    • Improved Chat
    • Marvel’s Captain America
    • Contact Filtering
    • First Time Tutorial
    • Swatting Bugs

To me, the most important ones are the improved chat and the contact filtering. I have been less than pleased with the “Metro” version of Skype, and other full screen versions of the apps. The space was typically not very well managed, the conversation sync was slow and if you have a lot of contacts, browsing them was not very nice. (more…)

Xbox One Closes In On PS4 In February 2014 NPD Figures

    Edwin Kee March 14, 2014

Xbox One Closes In On PS4 In February 2014 NPD FiguresSoftware sales might be in decline for February 2014, where new game sales fell by 9% year-over-year to $318 million, but hardware sales have swooped in to help save the day. In fact, the release of the new PS4 and Xbox One consoles continued the momentum in the right direction, where the gap between the two competing consoles have also narrowed by quite a considerable margin. Since Microsoft did announce that it sold 258,000 Xbox Ones last month, PS4 sales figures should be a wee bit more than that. Could swing gamers affect the sales figures differently this month?

Titanfall For Xbox One Sports 792p Resolution, Could Be Increased In The Future

    Tyler Lee March 11, 2014

Titanfall For Xbox One Sports 792p Resolution, Could Be Increased In The FutureResolution for games is an important factor as it does go towards making the game look good. However gameplay is equally if not more important, but if you’re the sort of gamer who prioritizes aesthetics, you might be happy to know that Titanfall for the Xbox One will be shipped with a native resolution of 792p.

This contradicts earlier rumors that suggested that the game might launch in 720p. The beta of the game was running at 792p, but the rumors claimed that the developers, Respawn Entertainment, had decided to go with 720p with the launch version of the game instead. Thankfully that isn’t true as it has been confirmed by Respawn themselves. (more…)

Twitch For The Xbox One Is Live

    Tyler Lee March 11, 2014

There are gamers out there who broadcast the playing of games for a living. Perhaps they’re pros where other gamers subscribe to in order to learn how to be a better player, or they could simply be reviewing a game live as they play, but whatever the reason is, there is a huge demand for it.

That being said, Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall is now live and it seems that not only will gamers be able to enjoy the game, but it seems that they will be able to broadcast their first experience of it via Twitch. This has been confirmed by Twitch themselves where they state that the app update will be available today, a day earlier than expected. (more…)

Watch Dogs PS4 Version Dishes Out 1080p/30FPS

    Edwin Kee March 7, 2014

Watch Dogs PS4 Version Dishes Out 1080p/30FPSIt is always nice to see fanboys on both sides of the divide presenting their arguments to tell the world as to why their point of view is correct, and here we are two contenders in the video game console department – the Xbox One and Sony PS4. Watch Dogs has come under the microscope this time around when it comes to the resolution as well as framerate, and it does seem as though the PS4 version of Watch Dogs has the upper hand over the Xbox One version. Basically, the Sony PS4 version of Watch Dogs will feature 1080p resolution at 30fps, while the Xbox One version will dish out 960p at 30fps. As for the PC version, I guess it is hands down the winner, as depending on your system configuration, your eyeballs will be able to enjoy up to 4K resolution, with a variable framerate.

Titanfall Edition Xbox One Console Is Real, But Not Available For Purchase

    Tyler Lee March 7, 2014

Titanfall Edition Xbox One Console Is Real, But Not Available For PurchaseRespawn Entertainment’s Titanfall will be making its way onto Microsoft’s Windows and Xbox platforms on the 11th of March. We’re sure this is a game many are looking forward to after seeing the gameplay videos and seeing how Microsoft went as far as tweaking the Xbox One’s controller just for the game.

Microsoft has also revealed a Titanfall Xbox One bundle that is basically a regular Xbox One with the game bundled. However there will also be a limited edition Xbox One controller available, and last we heard there were rumors about a Titanfall edition Xbox One console as well. Turns out the rumors were true, thanks to a recent photo posted by Respawn, although the downside is that gamers won’t be able to buy it. (more…)
