T-Mobile To Discontinue Employer Rate Plan Discounts

Edwin Kee March 31, 2014

T Mobile To Discontinue Employer Rate Plan DiscountsWe have got our shields up for this coming April 1st as I am sure that there will be a fair number of seemingly realistic albeit nutty sounding tech stories that will make their way online. T-Mobile is dead serious, however, this coming April 1st where they intend to move away from employer rate plan discounts and will instead replace them with a T-Mobile reward card of $25 every single time an employee purchases a new device. T-Mobile claims that this is “simple, clear and transparent”, which is at the heart of just about “everything we do.”

Those who signed up also had the added incentive to share whatever part of their personal information that they would want to with the mobile carrier, who so happens to have put up several Samsung Galaxy S5 handsets to be given away for free to a select lucky few subscribers.

Deutsche Telekom Taking Its Time To Exit US Market [Rumor]

    Tyler Lee February 12, 2014

Deutsche Telekom Taking Its Time To Exit US Market [Rumor]For those unfamiliar, Deutsche Telekom is the parent company of US carrier T-Mobile. As you might have heard, there have also been talks that T-Mobile could be bought up by Sprint and in the past we have seen how other carriers, such as AT&T, have attempted to purchase T-Mobile as well. All of this seems to indicate that Deutsche Telekom wants to exit the US market as they believe that by being fourth place, behind AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, it would limited their long-term profitability. T-Mobile Moto X Android 4.4.2 Update Released

    Adnan Farooqui February 11, 2014

T Mobile Moto X Android 4.4.2 Update Released

Just over a week back T-Mobile started conducting a soak test of Android 4.4.2 for its Moto X. The process involves rolling out the new firmware update to a select few people who then try out said update to ensure that no bugs or issues remain to be fixed before the firmware is finally rolled out to the public. Once an update reaches the soak test step, its public release is expected within a couple of weeks. That’s exactly the timeline this particular update has followed, today the T-Mobile Moto X Android 4.4.2 update has finally been released.

Sprint And SoftBank Rethink T-Mobile Bid [Report]

    Adnan Farooqui February 10, 2014

Sprint And SoftBank Rethink T Mobile Bid [Report]

There is a lot of speculation surrounding the T-Mobile Sprint merger. The latter is yet to make an official bid for Magenta, even though it has been rumored that there’s over $40 billion available in financing should a deal be made. Apparently Sprint and its parent company Softbank are currently rethinking about going down this road, because apparently they have been shocked by ”the level of opposition and its public nature.”

T-Mobile Wins Lawsuit Against AT&T’s Aio Wireless

    Tyler Lee February 10, 2014

T Mobile Wins Lawsuit Against AT&Ts Aio WirelessWhile Magenta might not be T-Mobile’s official name, it is what the carrier is referred to at times, just like how some people still refer to AT&T as Ma Bell, and how Verizon is also sometimes known as Big Red. That being said, magenta is also the color used by T-Mobile in their logo and unsurprisingly they weren’t too pleased when they discovered that AT&T’s Aio Wireless used the same color as them, which ultimately led to a lawsuit. Naturally AT&T claims that they did not use the magenta color, but we guess their argument is invalid as the courts have ruled in T-Mobile’s favor.

According to a statement that T-Mobile released upon learning about their win, “The court agreed with us that Aio can’t continue infringing T-Mobile’s magenta mark by using large blocks of what it has called “plum,” and told Aio to stop using magenta or similar colors in all of its marketing and advertising, including stores, web sites and social media.” This was also followed up by a rather spiteful tweet by T-Mobile’s CEO, John Legere, who wrote, “Young bullies steal lunch money, old bullies steal brand colors, right #Randall? Too bad we fight for our brand color”. What do you guys think? Are the colors any cause for concern of mistaken identity?

Sprint T-Mobile Merger To Be Discussed With FCC

    Adnan Farooqui February 3, 2014

Sprint T Mobile Merger To Be Discussed With FCC

Ever since it was first rumored that Sprint is interested in buying T-Mobile, there has been a lot of speculation about the response of regulatory authorities over the Sprint T-Mobile merger. This isn’t the first time that Magenta has attracted a buyer, back in 2011 it agreed to sell itself to AT&T for $39 billion, but the deal was blocked by regulators. Analysts are of the view that similar issues might plague a similar deal this time around as well, which is presumably why Sprint higher-ups are meeting with regulators to see where they lean prior to making an official buyout bid for T-Mobile U.S.

T-Mobile Moto X Android 4.4.2 Update Might Not Be Far Off

    Adnan Farooqui February 2, 2014

T Mobile Moto X Android 4.4.2 Update Might Not Be Far Off

Only recently we reported that a Sprint subscriber had received the Moto X Android 4.4.2 update even though the carrier is yet to publicly roll out said firmware. Moto X users in the U.S. are anxiously waiting on their carriers to roll out the latest iteration of KitKat, but so far there’s no official word as to when said firmware is going to be released. It appears that T-Mobile might be gearing up to do so in the near future, as the carrier has started reaching out to people, inviting them to take part in a “soak test” for an upcoming firmware update.
