Office For iPad Reportedly Good To Go, Awaiting Launch Date

    Tyler Lee March 14, 2014

Office For iPad Reportedly Good To Go, Awaiting Launch DateBack in 2011, we caught wind of the possibility that Microsoft could be bringing their Office productivity suites onto the iPad. This is a no-brainer actually given the ubiquitous nature of the iPad, but for whatever reason, Microsoft has yet to release the app fast forward three years later.

There have been conflicting reports suggesting that Office for the iPad would only be released as a touch-friendly version for Windows was released, but then later it was suggested that the app might even see a release in the first half of 2014. Now according to a report from Reuters, it has been revealed that Office for the iPad is actually good to go, and that they’re just waiting on Microsoft’s new CEO, Satya Nadella, to decide on a launch date. Campaign Calls To Boycott Apple Products Due To Use Of Toxic Chemicals

    Tyler Lee March 14, 2014

Campaign Calls To Boycott Apple Products Due To Use Of Toxic ChemicalsIn the past, Apple has gotten a fair amount of flak regarding working conditions in the factories of their partners, such as Foxconn. Apple has since made efforts to change that perception by instating rules and regulations that would ensure that their manufacturing partners adhere to certain guidelines.

In fact these guidelines extend to the use of conflict material in Apple products to ensure that certain components are not sourced from particular regions in the world. However it seems that despite Apple’s best practices to ensure that their partners follow their guidelines, there are some who feel that Apple has not done enough. (more…)

iOS 7.1 Update Hints Of 2 New iPad Models

    Edwin Kee March 11, 2014

iOS 7.1 Update Hints Of 2 New iPad ModelsSo, the dust has started to settle from the iOS 7.1 update release for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, but is there more than meets the eye? Apparently so, as it seems that when one decides to dig deeper into the iOS 7.1 update, one would be able to check out references made to a couple of unannounced iPad models that have been snucked into the update itself. In a new report that hails from 9to5Mac, it seems that iOS 7.1 will feature support for “iPad 4,3″ and “iPad 4,6″. Do these two model numbers sound familiar to you? The answer is obviously in the negative, since none of the existing iPads carry such model numbers. For instance, the iPad Air features the model numbers iPad 4,1 and iPad 4,2, while the iPad mini with Retina display happens to be known as the iPad 4,4 and iPad 4,5.

Dead Woman’s iPad Made Useless Because Of Apple Security Rules

    Edwin Kee March 7, 2014

Dead Woman’s iPad Made Useless Because Of Apple Security Rules When John Grant’s mother, Anthea, breathed her last without having written down her Apple ID as well as password somewhere, who would have thought that it would amount to a rather grievous matter. She had bequeathed her iPad to her family, but due to the fact that they do not have her Apple ID and password, they are unable to work with the iPad. In short, the Apple tablet has become something of a huge paperweight. The late Anthea’s family even went all the way to provide Apple with her death certificate, will and solicitor’s letter, but Apple made life difficult for them, citing that one more thing was required – a court order in order to prove that she was the owner of the iPad when she was still alive. Ridiculous, don’t you think so?

    iPad Smart Bezels Patent Filed

    Adnan Farooqui January 30, 2014

    ipad-smart-bezels

Apple has filed for a new patent related to iPad smart bezels. The idea is to transform the bezels on its tablet into areas that are capable of recognizing touch input, thus extending the range of functions and gestures available to users. This would certainly make the bezels much useful, though in the filing indicates that the tablets will have larger bezels. The iPads have had larger bezels in the part, but in recent models Apple has made them thinner. Either it would find a way to make this functionality work with significantly thinner bezels, or this is going to be one of those patented technologies that never see the light of day.
