Samsung’s Latest Robot Vacuum Looks Like Darth Vader

Adnan Farooqui October 10, 2017

Have you ever wished for Darth Vader to clean your living room? If you have, Samsung has launched just the thing for you. The company has introduced a new Star Wars limited edition of its Powerbot robot vacuum cleaner. It’s the result of a partnership between Samsung and Star Wars fans. The VR7000 robot vacuum cleaner is offered in two different styles, Darth Vader and Stormtrooper.

The Darth Vader version of the robot vacuum has a special cover that has been created using premium materials that resemble Lord Vader’s all-black mask. The Stormtrooper version replicates the iconic white and black look of his minions.

The Darth Vader model of this robot vacuum cleaner has Wi-Fi connectivity as well as its own remote control. Both models have unique sound effects that are appropriate for each character. The Darth Vader model mimics the character’s infamous labored breather when turned on.

There’s nothing new other than the cosmetic changes. It’s the same VR7000 robot vacuum underneath, with its 10 watts of suction power, CycloneForce technology, and Edge Clean Master features. The Visionary Mapping Plus feature enables the vacuum to work autonomously by mapping the room and finding the fastest cleaning routes.

The Darth Vader and Stormtrooper models have been priced at $799 and $699 respectively. They are available for pre-order from Samsung’s website today and will be released on November 5th.

Darth Vader Virtual Reality Film Being Made

Adnan Farooqui July 17, 2016

One of the most iconic characters from the Star Wars universe is making his way to virtual reality. It has been confirmed that Lucasfilm is making a Darth Vader virtual reality film in collaboration with xLab, the virtual reality arm of Industrial Light & Magic. This highly anticipated virtual reality experience is going to be written by David S. Goyer, the man who penned Man of Steel and Batman Begins.

Pablo Hidalgo, creative executive at Lucasfilm, confirmed that a Darth Vader virtual reality film is being made. He also revealed that this is going to be an original Star Wars narrative experience that’s going to allow viewers to experience and feel as if they are a part of Darth Vader’s story.

He did clarify that viewers are not going to have a passive experience like what viewers get with a TV show or even a gaming experience. This is going to be something new altogether that’s strongly tied to the original story within the Star Wars universe.

This unique film is going to take place in a persistent world meaning that it would cycle through day and night, and will continue to do so even after the viewer has gone through the story for the very first time.

It will certainly not be available immediately. Goyer mentions that it could take up to a year or two for this experience to be released to Star Wars fans across the globe.

Darth Vader’s Presence In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Confirmed

Adnan Farooqui June 22, 2016

It was rumored back in January this year that in one of the three spin-off Star Wars movies that Disney is going to produce, we’ll get to see Darth Vader once again. It was said that our favorite Sith Lord would return in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Fans have held on to that hope for months and they will be delighted to find out that Darth Vader’s presence in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has finally been confirmed.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Vader is back but details about his role in the film are limited at this point in time. It’s unclear what role Vader will be part of in the film’s plot but, nevertheless, fans will be excited to see him on the big screen again and many will just be content with just seeing him force choke someone.

The events of this upcoming movie take place between Episode III and IV of the original trilogy. It’s a time when Darth Vader is at the height of his power, ready and willing to do whatever it takes for the Empire as his transformation from Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader has been completed.

Previous reports have suggested that Rogue One’s team has created an exact replica of Vader’s costume as seen in A New Hope. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled to hit the big screen later this year on December 16th.
